Suffixe stehen am Ende von Wörtern. Sie helfen dir, die Bedeutung eines neuen Wortes zu verstehen. Hier sind einige häufige Suffixe.
Suffix | Bedeutung | Beispiele |
er, or (noun) | Person | work – worker, swim – swimmer, instruct – instructor |
er, or (noun) | Maschine, Sache | cook – cooker, calculate – calculator |
ful (adjective) | voll | use – useful, beauty – beautiful |
less (adjective) | ohne | use – useless, end – endless |
ly | macht ein Adverb aus einem Adjektiv | quick – quickly, happy – happily |

Examples:
He’s a hard worker. He works 12 hours a day. – Er ist ein harter Arbeiter. Er arbeitet 12 Stunden am Tag.
She’s a very good swimmer. She was in the Olympic team. – Sie ist eine sehr gute Schwimmerin. Sie war in der Olympiamannschaft.
